Review: Things We Never Said by Samantha Young

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“I loved him. So much. But as much as he blamed me for leaving, I knew there was a part of me that blamed him for not coming after me. Too much blame. Too much hurt. And something more. Guilt I still kept buried deep that wouldn’t release me from its grasp.”

Things We Never Said is the wonderful third book in author Samantha Young's Hart’s Boardwalk series.

Local metalsmith and gift shop owner, Dahlia McGuire, likes her life in Hartwell, Delaware. It’s the perfect place to hide from her family and the tragic events that led to their estrangement.

When her father, the person she loves most in the world, needs her Dahlia has no choice but to return to Boston and face her ghosts.

Michael Sullivan has never forgotten Dahlia McGuire. For years he lived with the anger of her desertions, and now, newly divorced, he’s finally ready to move on. This soon proves impossible when Dahlia returns and reawakens their explosive chemistry.

Despite everything Michael wants her back, but Dahlia can’t seem to let go of the tangled emotions of the past. Determined to not waste their second chance, Michael follows Dahlia back to Hartwell, intent on convincing her that they’re perfect together.

But when the unthinkable hits the quiet seaside town, Michael finds himself trying to unravel more than the mystery of Dahlia’s broken heart.

“You left me.” His words caught like stinging cuts on my lips. “You left me and I was so in love with you. I didn’t want to find you because you broke my heart, Dahlia. You broke my fuckin’ heart.”

I am a HUGE fan of Samantha Young’s books and I’ve been dying to read Dahlia and Michaels story for so long, and was ecstatic to receive an advanced copy for review.

Things We Never Said is a second chance romance packed with angst and chemistry and I was so caught up in Dahlia and Michael’s story that that I forgot to take notes for my review.

I’m a sucker for angst filled romance novels written well and Samantha Young has knocked it out of the park with Things We Never Said.

With the spectacular chemistry between Michael and Dahlia and the plot so compelling I’ve had a book hangover for over a month after finishing Things We Never Said.

“Sorry I took so long. Uprooting your life takes longer than you’d think.” I shook my head, completely discombobulated. “What are you talking about?” A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. “You left me again. But this time I’m not letting you go.”

Things We Never Said is due for release on the 7th May and you do not want to miss it.
